How reliable is the Comptech S/C kit
Here's a link to the banjo bolt DIY thread:

EDIT: FWIW, I did upgrade my banjo bolts before installing the SC/AC, just for "peace of mind."

In this case an oil jet bolt or oil squirter.
Here's a picture of a generic banjo (but it's not exactly like the ones used in our engines):

I don't believe it was the banjo bolts that caused your failure. Modifry went 180,000 miles on his supercharged S2000, and he never upgraded his banjo bolts. Since he tracked the car regularly and drove it a lot harder than most his lack of problems isn't a result of taking it easy on the car. Who told you the failure was related to the banjo bolts, and why did they think the failure was related to the bolts?
I've had my Comptech S/C for close to two years now, and haven't run into any reliablity issues or problems with the kit. The car has been as reliable since the day I bought her new. Installed it myself at 40K miles, and today I'm at 76K miles.
Just keep up on your regular maintenance and you'll be fine. Also, there's no need for a "tougher" bottom end or a standalone (like the EMS). The Comptech kit is perfectly fine as "bolt on and go" mod.

^^ That's consistent with the experience of the VAST majority of people who have supercharged their S2000's using either a Vortech or Comptech kit.

so what are you numbers on the dyno then, w/o ems or vafc?
I haven't had the car on a dyno; We measure performance using three axis accelerometers, so I prefer not to make direct comparisons. With the CTSC/AC MY00-01 cars make between 270 and 290 WHP while MY02-03 cars make a little more (280-300 seems to be typical). With the Vortech you get a little more with either car because the boost is a little higher. Stock injectors are good for about 320 WHP if you want to mess with pully upgrades and tuning. I don't know if that can be improved upon with an EMS or VAFC, because that's already pusing the stock injectors.
The first obstacle in the boost addiction you'll encounter is maxing out the stock injectors. As RedMX5 said, you'll max the injectors out at 320 rwhp or 7psi.
If you boost past these numbers, you got have no choice but to get bigger injectors and something to run them as the stock ECU will not.

Never knew 02-03's push out a few ponies more than the previous years. Glad I have an 02
