It all depends on how you drive the car. You know my car and nothing broke so far. I don't launch the car and do not smash gears.

I've never broken an axle in any of my cars, one was over 500hp and one was over 400hp and I raced them both down the strip but never broken an axle. A friend of mine auto x'd his a bit and broke 3 axles and an oem diff on stock power so it's all in how you drive

I have had opposite experiences with my car. My differential has been great, but I've broken 3 axles. 2 at the track one on the street. My axles broke due to wheel hop though. I'm making 546whp.

Yea that's my optimal goal is to be at the power level of where your at. My worry is I'm going to spend 2500 on a diff just to have my axles be my next weak point.

Guys any idea if there is an aftermarket replacement for oem axles that don't require any modifications. Similar to civics with gator axles.

This is the killer of axles usually. I broke two on my srt4 cause I didn't get off the throttle once I felt the hop. I learned after that. Before I bought solid mounts, if I felt the slightest hint of wheel hop, I left off instantly.

That's how my diff went. Bad wheel hop and I tried to power out of it. Now if it hops I'm right out of it.

I was launching/slipping the clutch and broke the axle. That was on a diff already on its way out to.

I let out as soon as I feel it hopping, but my tires were already spinning too fast to keep it from breaking. I do my burnout in 2nd or 3rd gear. My wheels are spinning between 60-90 MPH. The main thing to prevent breaking axles or differential is a good set of drag radials. (less chance of wheel hop) I need to take my own advise here...

Looks like an option for oem axles is driveshaft shop but with their price and puddymods almost worth going with a 8.8 setup.
