I need help 2001 turbo s2000, CA
So a local nsx and s2000 race Car builder said he thinks it's either the timing chain tensioner causing chain to slap putatively or the bearing were not o.e.m on the build or the bearings were to tight on original build, but there is no metal shavings in oil. The car went 1000 miles as is and didn't change, no knock past 4,500 rpm. Pettyboy the seller took the tensioner off be I left to California after it was knocking, so I have no idea what he checked to see if it was still good.
I can't tell from the video. I could be the time chain tensioner. You still need to know the things I mentioned in my previous post. Truth is you got a product that isn't completely functional. So you must suspect the rest of the build now and confirm as much as you can or you can just hope everything will be okay.
I saw your pcv valve disconnected. Swap it out for the supra one, it is much more robust. Also make sure the vacuum line that normally goes to the PCV valve isn't just open to atmosphere. That will cause problems with your idle. Idle issues could be a loose injector clip adapter. They go bad. The point being, you need to go over this entire car with a magnifying glass and see what's going on for yourself.
I saw no fuel pressure gauge and a stock fpr. Odds are your base pressure is high if you have an aftermarket fuel pump (which you should). It's no biggie, but it's good to have a fuel pressure gauge when tuning.
Alloy craft has an excellent aem ems bracket that puts the ems in the stock location securely.
Find some competent help in your area and Good luck.

In the video it sometimes sounded like a bad timing chain tensioner, other times it didn't. If it's get more apparent as the RPMs raise that it isn't the TCT. TCT almost always goes away when the RPMs rise.
Honesty, the first thing you need to do is get a compression test and leak down test done. This will tell you the health of the motor. Then you can go from there

ZDDP is an additive that used to be put into oil until the "Gov" decided to pull it. It is superior in lubricating things like TCT's, valves, pushrods, rockers, etc. Almost all over the shelf oil lacks ZDDP any longer and to get a good oil like AMSoil that still uses it, you'll have to go to a performance shop or get it online.
The tct was swapped already by Pettyboy with his other s2000. Ok so today I took off the oil pan to check for metal, and I found 2 small shavings and no fine metal at all, all the rods had the same amount of play. I took the valve cover off and again turned the engine hearing a small knock at hand crank. The knock noise sounds like it's coming from everywhere, but disappears when I take the spark plugs out and turn the engine. Number 2 spark plug was badly fouled and had oil all over the side that the coil connects to to feed it spark. The hole was filled with oil also then drained into cylinder when I took the plug out.
