Default inline pro oil relocation question

so we're working on the car its time for the relocation.

the filter side fits perfect, no problems. the block side has a bit of play in it though. we've got the big huge bolt down pretty tight but the actual adapter can still rotate up and down - though it is up against the block flush.

we removed the stock oil cooler and used an o-ring gasket on the block side adapter. is this correct? is a little bit of play ok? we figured it should be pretty tight on and almost impossible to turn.

please advise

In order for it to fit snug, you'll have to take the bolt out and trim about a 1/4 inch off of it. Sucks, but it's pretty common for this relocation kit.

pretty sure that's what we're going to do tomorrow.

the only problem with this method is that if i go too crazy with washers the banjo bolt hole will not line up properly. i will let you know what happens tomorrow!

No, not washers. The problem is the bolt is simply too long. It won't let the o-ring seal properly because it won't let the adapter come close enough to the block to compress the o-ring enough to make it seal. cut a few threads real careful-like.

I am able to rotate mine with a bit of force and it does not leak at all.

Is yours loose to the point you can just spin it?

i fixed it. i was taking a gander at the pictures of the kit on ILP's website. i saw an o-ring that i didnt have.

quick trip to home depot and the piece tightened right up!

so now, onto the next problem!
