More then likely I'm confused. So 3mm gasket with turbo is good. E will be running stock lower end with inline pro kit. He's only looking for 350-400 RWHP. Nothing crazy. He just wants a decent DD that won't blow up all day. And I'm soon to buy and s2k and do the same. So we want reliability along with a turbo. Want to have all ducks in a row before we nuke a perfectly good motor.
hahaha Quit day dreaming about your future s2k build. It's nothing more than a pipe dream anyway!
I'm only being a dick to you cuz you were a dick to someone else in a different thread.
Since most people that turbo their car ARE NOT concerned with reliabilty. (sarcasm) I'm glad you and your friend are the rare exception and want reliability. In your words... If you don't want your car to "blow up all day" pretend you never heard the term "3mm headgasket"!
You don't need the damn gasket for 400hp. If these gaskets fall into the wrong hands motors can "blow up all day". So don't use it.
How many ducks do you have in a row now? Just wondering
I just installed the IP TCT in my all stock car.
I had previously replaced my TCT twice with the OEM part but it only lasted a few months.
I have been having other issues with the car so I have not had a chance to drive it too much but the problem is definitely gone.
As for what's diffierent about the IP TCT, I did not fully disassemble it so I cannot say if they have upgraded the springs, the piston looks the same. However, I could see that the oil inlet port is much bigger but that is not the only change. There is another change that is hard to describe and is definitely not a DIY job but probably required some machining.

I traded in the S a few months ago but just wanted to post an update for anyone else interested in the inline pro TCT, assuming they are still selling it.
I had no issues with the inline pro TCT, my car was a daily driver and I drove it in summer and new england winter for a year (~15k miles) with this new TCT. No more ticking or any other funny sounds, no other issues whatsoever.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who's got a ticking OEM TCT. I believe that replacing an ticking OEM TCT with another OEM TCT is just a temporary fix but the IP TCT is a permanent solution.
