I've used ACT clutches in all my cars in the past with good results.

If I were to do it, I'd use an ACT heavy duty pressure plate, OEM Honda friction disc, OEM Honda throwout bearing, ACT clutch alignment tool, and a TODA lightweight flywheel.

*edit* Forgot pricing

Clutch is probably ~$350
Flywheel is ~$400
Install is likely $500

So you're looking about $1250 for the drivetrain upgrades (I like to guess high whenever I'm going to mod my car so don't flame me please )

You can use the stock flywheel and get it resurfaced for about $50... it'll save you about $350 as well.

Ok, this is turning out more expensive than I expected but I really would love the extra power.

Cost breakdown (quoted from a local installer):

ACT Pressure Plate, OEM disk, OEM throwout bearing, and Comptech Flywheel - $1,000

Comptech SC w/ aftercooler - $6,000

Labor - $900

Total - $7,900

Is this a good deal, or should I try and bargain down?

Thanks.

A $900 labor charge? Does this include the install fee for both the S/C and the clutch? If so, I'd say that's a damn good deal...

$6000 for S/C aftercooler? You can get it cheaper online or from hardtopguy.

Yeah, the $900 labor is for SC w/aftercooler + Clutch + Flywheel installation. The prices for the parts may be cheaper online, but if I purchase them through the installer, they can discount their labor.

So $7,900 is a good deal? I shouldn't try and squeeze another hundred bucks or so? I'm itching to call them to set up my appointment...(again I promise before & after dyno charts posted on this site)

Where are you located? If you are West Coast then Spugen (AHHVTEC) would be the place to go. If you do a little research you will see that several places have the S/C for about $800.00 cheaper. Also your stock 2004 will not be much louder after the S/C install. Good luck!
