Does the knocking get more faint as you rev it and get really loud the lower the car idles? If so then MORE than likely you scored one of the cyl walls and part of all of your rings are gone. Thats what happend to mine anyway. I had a ton of blow by coming out of the valve cover vent and dip stick. On boost the butt dyno didnt really notice any power loss. But over time (about a month) the knocking just kept getting louder and louder. Eventually the blow by got so bad that it would literally blow the dipstick out of the hole if i reved it up. When finnaly tore it down part of my piston compression and oil rings were missing and in the bottom of the oil pan and it had scored the side of the cyl up so bad that it had to be sleeved. Regardless if its a scored cyl or a bearing, if your bottom end is knocking its time for a new bottom end.

how much power were you making before it broke? and how much power do you want to make in the end? what kinda turbo do you run?

if your goals are 400 and under, i would just buy a used bottom end and swap it in. up to 500 is a toss up and over 500 i would build the motor with 9.x-10.0 :1 CR. sure you can raise compression for a race car, but youy rebuild the motor constantly

for reliable built motor FI go lower then our stock 11:1.

Compression ratio is determined by what you running for fuel.

Not really. Timing and injectors maybe, but not compression. If you want to use e85 you'll need bigger injectors for example.

But anyway, you can run 450whp fairly safely stock if you have a good tuner and maintain the car properly. I don't even have a turbo and I check my oil every 2-3 weeks, and my car doesn't even loose oil (not a noticeable amount anyway).

its part of it, but not all of it.

our cars have this wonderful thing called low dynamic compression so our cars can run more power on static 11:1 compression then others. vtec lobes, dynamic compression and qeunch area FTW.

450? yeah id stay with a used stock block.
