ok I see, but for the comments above from other members seems like a turbo is not the best mod for long trips; do not understand me wrong, I had a Turbo kit on the S before and worked without any problems and made long trips + track session on the same day with a SC and everything went perfect.

When Inilne did my first turbo set up, I drove from NOVA to Pesacola straight after installation. About 1200 miles. The tune was great. At the time the EMS was not available, I had the VFAC II spliced into the stock ECU. My car ran better at that time.
The only thing I had to add when I stopped for gas was maybe a half a quart of oil the whole trip.
Then from Pensacola to Tampa and back several times with no issues.

Eventually ( 7 months later) on a 20 min trip to work the oil pump went out and spun a rod bearing doing 50 mph. I just bought the oil pressure gauge and was going to put it in that weekend.
I just installed after the rebuild.
Here is a pic of the first build.

everything will be ok...look at all the cars that come turbo... just because you add a turbo dont mean you cant drive it... just dont run it hard the whole way down

as long as you are not hitting boost on all 2500 miles... u are good.

just make sure you make frequent pitstops and pop your hood to cool down your engine bay.

if you drive hard enough even for a short trip on boost... your turbo manifold will get red hot. im guessing thats not good.

I don't think there is any need to stop and check. Just stop when you need to fuel up / eat / relieve yourself. When just cruising, the turbo isn't in boost and no real stress. Plus your having massive amounts of air going through the engine compartment to cool it down.

at 80-85 mph, isn't it already boostin? i thought the boosting for tubos usually begin at 3K rpm

Depends on the turbo. 3k is a little early though. Most spool up around 3800 and see full boost around 4500.

Going 85 you would be boosting.
