Well I got a chance to ride in TRBOKEV's Inline Pro kit car finally and all I can say is WOW.
His car at 15 pounds feels as fast as mine at 20 pounds on the top end! It's obvious now to me that I have no clue when it comes to tuning.. Mase did a really good job on his car and it ran exceptionally well and had zero mid range hickups etc.. I could never have imagined that his log kit could be that much faster than my 6262 Mase kit on the top end, but he is running a nice boost dependant cutout vs my stock exhaust setup. His spool with the 5965 was also quicker, but I did have a slightly better mid range.
I think he could pull on me easy in a heads up highway pull from 60-110..
I was not expecting that response. Scott looks like you got some tuning to do! Don't underestimate the power of the Dyno Dynamics!

I have been slowly working on the car but haven't had a lot of time.

1.) I finally got the cut out installed. I put in a Sound Performance 2.5" cutout right before the flex pipe in the upper downpipe. It points down and exits straight down so there are no vibrations when it opens and keeps from burning anything under the car. It is working great and I am really happy, and yes I will take some pictures.

2.) Tonight, just a few months after my last battery change and the next Optima took a crap. This time my wife and I were driving down the road on about an hour cruise around town and we kept smelling sewer gas. I kept thinking that something died in the car b/c we did not drive the car for 2 weeks.

I got home and we were getting our junk out of the trunk and it smelled REALLY bad. The battery box was nearly 200F, I let it cool off for a minute and opened it to find battery acid on EVERYTHING.

I'm done with these Optima's, I am going to pick up an Odyssey and do it right. The ER40 should be a nearly perfect fit but I will have to make some new cables.

I hear Optima changed where they manufactured them and since then, went to crap. I also know a few people who have gone through more than 1. Red tops and Yellow tops.

Why not just get a new OEM S battery. I picked up mine for about $85 and it has a 7 or 9 year warranty, I cant remember. I got another OEM S battery because the first one lasted since the car was new in late 02 and it held up to the turbo heat very well.

The battery is mounted on it's side in the trunk, otherwise I would have done it in a heartbeat

Ahh, gotcha.

Do you have a good vent on that battery case to relieve fumes or is it sealed? I believe you need some sort of vent even with the Optima batteries.

It is vented, I could smell it slighly with the top down but did not figure it out until we got home from our drive.

Here are the pics of the cutout
