Looks great scott! How do you like it? I love the sleeper-ness of it! One thing that I wanted to do was figure out a way to keep have it close slowly rather than slam shut everytime I shift. Let me know when you figure out the solution

EDIT: is the pipe extension bolted on with 2 bolts? not enough room at the split eh?

I have been slowly working on the car but haven't had a lot of time.

1.) I finally got the cut out installed. I put in a Sound Performance 2.5" cutout right before the flex pipe in the upper downpipe. It points down and exits straight down so there are no vibrations when it opens and keeps from burning anything under the car. It is working great and I am really happy, and yes I will take some pictures.

2.) Tonight, just a few months after my last battery change and the next Optima took a crap. This time my wife and I were driving down the road on about an hour cruise around town and we kept smelling sewer gas. I kept thinking that something died in the car b/c we did not drive the car for 2 weeks.

I got home and we were getting our junk out of the trunk and it smelled REALLY bad. The battery box was nearly 200F, I let it cool off for a minute and opened it to find battery acid on EVERYTHING.

I'm done with these Optima's, I am going to pick up an Odyssey and do it right. The ER40 should be a nearly perfect fit but I will have to make some new cables.

definitely go with the odyssey. ive had a pc925 in my car for about a year now and it is awesome. Smaller than OEM, same weight, much more power packed into a smaller package, and you can mount it anywhere. Highly recommended.

I went down to autozone/advanced and bought a motorcycle battery, it's lasted fine the past 2 yrs, very small and sealed. I lay mine on the side.

It is working great, sounds great, and gave me my top end back after pulling off the Asura exhaust. Best of all I can reinstall the Cat and get rid of the smell

It is definatly better than the others I have seen.

You defiantly don't know it's coming unit I start brake boosting, then they get scared. Can't wait to get it back on the road again.

As for it closing you can always in stall a check valve with a restrictor. By this I mean a small flapper style valve so boost can go through it but not be let out. Then punch a small hole (Needle sized) so that is can slowly bleed out and shut after getting off of it completely.

Yeah it is very tight, I had to leave the Innovative mount b/c there was not enough room for the stock mount.

I talked with Optima and they believe Sulfation is the cause of the failure. Sulfation occurs overtime as the PH drops in the battery or more importantly the voltage goes below 12.4V. This builds a crystal layer over the lead plates preventing energy storage. The worst part is that the more crystals that form the lower the PH and ability to maintain 12.4V. The batteries are supposed to be maintained at 12.5Volts or higher when sitting on the shelf and should last for a VERY long time as no acid can evaporate as with a traditional battery.

The second one I got vented after only a day and it had a low charge when I got it. The second also had a low charge and was over a year old based on the date code. I am sure the charge was not maintained on it either causing the Sulfate crystal build up.

Scott, thanks again for the ride your car is ridiculously fast. Maybe I need to get a turbo it really makes my supercharger feel SLOW. Oh and your cutout is bad-ass, I am defiantly in awe of the power and how clean the car is

Thanks, but your car runs, ehh, good. It is pretty clean you just need to detail every month or two and it would look like new.
