New to FI with some questions
To the FI community,
I know this is probably the best place to go to for some answers to some questions. I've done numerous searches for high mileage and FI and only came up with a few threads with little information.
I currently own a 2000 Silverstone and have been the only owner. I'm now at 137,000 miles and have been searching and reading through the forums until my eyes feel like they are about to fall out. I did as much research as I could but would like to have some insight from you veterans. I feel that it's time to put a little more power into the S and wanted to stay CARB legal living in Texas. So, I decided on the Vortech V-3 SCi trim Supercharger.
Everything in my engine is bone stock except for the AEM cold air intake, DC sport ceramic headers and Tanabe Dual Racing Medallion Exhaust. I know that I have to do a compression test and leak down test and change the oil squirters. Then upgrade the clutch since I've never had to replace it due to any problems. Everything has been done from fluid replacement to spark plugs and wiring at the recommended mileage. So, for 137,000 I'm thankful nothing has broken yet. (knock on wood)
My questions were what clutch set up should i go with if i stay stock boost around 7-9 psi?
Would i use the high-flow fuel pump included with the kit or upgrade it to the Walbro In-Tank Fuel Pump 255LPH?
Would i use the FMU and Stand-alone ignition timing control computer or go with an AEM EMS + Wide-Band and still be CARB Legal?
As far as gauges go; would I need any gauges at all? Boost and Pressure or Boost and Temperature?
Would I need to upgrade the pulley or stick with the stock ones?
Would I need to upgrade my injectors or could i keep the stock ones?
I think that's all the questions that are concerning me since i'm new to this and didn't want to have everything installed and have something happen or missed something and needed to go back and correct it.
I'm not sure if I need to do anything else to the engine or left something out or should everything be fine. I love my car and take really good care of it and didn't want to leave something out and have something happen to the engine from reading all the horror stories about FI on the forum.
If you would be so kind as to help with your knowledge and answers I think it would clear up a lot of things I've been confused about with force induction on the S2000.
Thanks

-high mileage stock motors are VERY strong in these cars, check out what s2ki user: Rob! is doing with just a thicker headgasket
-im a biased turbo guy, but i recommend doing more research before settling on a f/i choice
-i recommend competition clutch stage 4 sprung
-upgrading to a single walbro 255 high pressure (make sure its the high pressure) intank pump is the best idea
-using larger injectors is very important, i recommend ID 1000cc
-AEM and Hondata both work very well, but you should choose a tuner and get their advice. In Texas, I recommend t1racedevelopments.com
again, dont make up your mind or spend any money until you know more and talk to more expereinced people. Its easy to blow a lot of money and get a bunch of stuff you dont need

Full Race Geoff,
Thanks for the input i really appreciate it. Yea, i was looking into a turbo but the only one that i could find that was CARB legal was the Greddy Kit and after reading and scouring through the forums all i came up with was people having problems with them or problems upgrading them later on.
It would have been alot easier if i could get by with the CARB issue that's probably why i decided to settle with the Vortech V-3 SCi Supercharger. I just had some questions with it since i see different user's with different set-ups on the Vortech kits and was wondering what the difference was or should i just use what came with the kit. i.e. fuel pump, pulley, clutch, injectors etc...

Texas and Georgia may adopt the CARB emissions regulation.
If I were to go with a turbo how would I be able to pass the emission's test for the state inspection when they check our OBDII.

Isn't the fuel pump in the Vortech kit a Walbro 255lph?
AEM won't pass CARB. Hondata will kinda but will report that the car is an RSX.
Otherwise you can look at a piggyback like the E-manage Ultimate. This retains the stock ECU but allows you to run larger injectors.
