Oil Pan casting flaws or crack?
I will post a picture later for refrence. Basically here is the deal. In order to fit my new ELT mani, and downpipe, etc I loosened the passenger motor mount and jacked up on the oil pan to gain some clearance to install parts. I put a block of wood under the pan and when I was under the car hooking up the drain line the pan looked seriously cracked. I put a quart of 10w40 in the car because I figured if it was cracked it would leak. Well this morning it hasnt leaked at all. Still i did some reading on here and people complain of rough casting marks that appear to look like cracks. This could be infact what I have and maybe Im just paranoid about it. If there was only a quart of oil in the pan, but its cracked would it still leak out? I just want to make sure I dont run around with a cracked oil pan. I will post pics later though. Any help is appreciated.

Where do you think it is? I'm really bored and can go take pics of my pan if you want. . .
basically honda uses the same die over the past 10 years to make these oil pans. Over time and lots of heating and coolings, these dies start to wear. Those marks you see are the cracks in the die that are completely aesthetic. Don't worry about it.

I think I know why only the passenger side looks this way. I painted my oil pan silver with high temp paint and some of the oil residue wore the paint off the passenger side. When my return line was leaking it ate away the paint and thus I see the casting marks again whereas the drivers side still has perfect paint. Oh i am SO relieved. You guys rock.
