I would go with a Forced Performance HTA 35R. It spools MUCH faster than a standard 35R and makes more top end. Transient response between gear shifts is much better as well as partial throttle capabilities. The turbo is a big hit on the EvolutionM forums. My younger brother has an Evo IX with a 35R also, I don't like the lag. Go to their site and see for yourself. OR, you can just go get a twin-scroll manifold, get a twin-scroll 35R, and call it a day - spool of close to the 30R with good top-end. However, the only 2 I know of that does twin-scroll manifolds are PFAB's custom ones and a group out in Arizona(forgot the name though).

I have had both. GT35R is what I like for my style of driving. Top end highway fun is 35R. If carving mass corners then 30R but I am sure you will be happy either direction. I think the 30R is more fun around town.

You're describing divided housing turbo's and manifolds, not 'twin scroll'

Yeah, I would think precision would have one like maybe like a 5862 or 6062 somthing around there. I think there is a couple in that range.

The precision turbos have had a high failure rate....I would stick with garrett. I have had a couple people PM me with precision issues.

I read a few things that I wanted to correct. Regarding the HTA35R vs the standard 35R, the HTA does NOT spool a ton quicker than a 35R. The HTA3582 has a slightly smaller compressor and spools a bit quicker, nothing amazing, and also makes more power. The HTA3586 spools SLOWER than the standard because the compressor is bigger, but it will also make more power.

Borg Warner turbos are nice for sure. One of the reasons they work well is the divided housings, most Garrett and Precisions arent available with them. Divided housings definitely help spool and still allow for good power up top. When you compare open housing turbos (Garrett vs BW) the BW turbos generally spool slower. Ive driven a few cars switching from one turbo to other, and I know quite a few people who have made the switch to notice the same.

I agree, if you get the precsion get a BB, I think most fail due to a restrictor problem.
