I hear/read stuff about Precisions failure rate now and then. They do have more problems than Garrett/BW, but I think some of it has to do with the user and the car setup. Im not saying thats always the case, but I know lots of Supra and Evo guys running Precision turbos without any problems.

Exactly how much more top end are we talking between the 30 and 35r? I am kinda in the same boat right now. I am kinda leaning twords faster spool on the 30 right now. However I still am open minded and both seem to have many pros and cons. Correct me if I am wrong. 30 = 500whp capability while 35r = 650 whp capability. From what I hear also the 35r spools about 500rpm slower than the 30. Heres where the hard decision comes in because theres tons of people saying they love there 30 and wouldnt change it and then tons saying the same for the 35r. Now, I looked into other options such as the Borgwarners. What are peoples outlook on these. Better, worse than the 30 or 35r? Whats the difference powerwise and spool wise?

okay how about this... do you want to make big power and blow by Zo6's GTR's Viper's (bus lengths) or do you want to pull on them? a few car lengths?

You have a GT35R and are using it to make 511 whp. Isn't a gt30 capable of that?

@511whp my 30R would pull on you. Assuming my 30R has the same power level it will spool sooner and make more torque.

thats only possible if the gt30 can make the same amount of power. even if you make more torque..the gt35r keeps making torque after 7k rpms. the gt30 loses a good amount of torque in the higher rpms.

i also make 511 on dynamics, a gt30 can't hit 500hp on dyno dynamics. well.. i havn't seen a dyno of one yet. the closest i've seen was 476 on that dyno.

i like the 30r and 35r turbo's a lot. we used to do the 30r's on b16's and 35r's on the 1.8 motors. if you only plan on making in the 400's or so go with the 30r.... if you want to make big power go with the 35r. nobody is ever happy with the amount of power they make for a long period of time, so i usually try to get into a turbo that is capable of making more power than my actual goal is. i dont like having to push everything to the absolute limit to make a goal. its nice to make said goal with out having to throw 50lbs of boost at it lol

here is a .63 T3 35r b series car i tuned a couple weeks ago. GOOD 2.0 motor, good cams, custom intake and exhaust manifolds, motec m800. this was only about 24psi.

i went 10.0 with this turbo about 4 years ago when it made 616whp. i LOVE 35r's
