i spoke to CT about this and this was their reply:

"Hello,

Since we first switched to the 1220SL we’ve only seen one unit that needed to be rebuilt, and it was fully covered under warranty by Paxton.

If you would like to order the kit with a 1220 unit instead of the 1220SL, it is possible. Though performance would not change, and according to Paxton, the 1220SL is the more advanced unit.

Thanks for considering CTE.

Sincerely,

Well its confirmed for me, I've now read enough threads on prematurely failing SL units... that if I ever upgrade my NV1000... I will stick with the tried and true engine oil recirculating type. You have to change the engine oil anyway, only difference is now you have an earl fitting going to the drain hole rather then a plug, minor inconvenience for a blower that you can put 200k miles on.

Paxton should warranty the blower. You could change the blower to a non SL unit with the correct fittings. You can also upgrade the blower to a 1200 from a 1220. I recommend doing it however your boost levels will be slightly off. Contact Ilovemyhondda1984 about what size pulley to run with a 1200.

You might be able to figure out what fittings you need on your own, or you could contact SOS, but I wouldn't. SOS has said misleading things to myself and the guy I bought my SOS kit from so I no longer want to deal with them. But there kit is top notch though.
