So the Vortech stock, does or does not adjust the A/F ratio?

I know you cannot adjust it and change it how you want without an AEM EMS or E-Manage, but I assume the Vortech stock kit changes the stock A/F ratio or it would simply be retarded lean...

Some cars are ok with out of the box kits , others like mine were VERY lean . I used a recalibration kit from vortech and that made things 1 full point richer but still too lean . After that i installed an apexi vafc2 and was able to get the af ratio in the mid 12s at full boost . I have ran the car this way for 20k and have had no trouble . However if you have the money i would highly recommend doing things the proper way and getting some form of engine management to control bigger injectors or a second set of injectors . The rising rate fmu that comes with low boost kits such as vortech is CRAP !! A primitive way of making things work .

I'm looking for an inexpensive way to adjust the A/F ratio for now and next summer I'll get a more tunable solution. How much is a VAFC?

Also, if your car runs rich stock (mine seems to based on tail pipe action) perhaps it is safer? I believe '00-'01's run richer than '02-'03 as a result produce slightly less power.
