Awesome replies.

I am using a small oil seperator currently, but it doesn't seem to be working as well as I'd like.

I want to fab a small can and run both lines to it...however I still am unsure about ditching the pcv valve.

ok this is good info. So whats the proper way to run this? Have the valve cover vent open with a filter? Then route PCV - can, and IM source - Can ? Thats how slows has it....

Then some people route the front breather line to the can along with the pcv and cap off the IM. Whats the right way guys?

No "right" was as far as I can tell.

Most setups, on high whp setups weld bungs to the valve cover and dump them into a can of sorts that is vented to atmos.

Thats what I plan on doing.

gotcha, i guess what ill do for the time being is run the front breather line to a catch can, along with the pcv valve to a catch can and cap off the IM. This way its taking the pcv out of the equation and all oil vapors should reach the catch can for the most part. I guess the reason people weld bungs is for better oil evacuation since the front breather hose/pcv combo doesnt flow as much.

Well here are the things to think about:

1. Nobody wants oil vapors in their newly cleaned IM's.
2. Is vacuum from the IM needed to suck out the vapors from the pcv?
3. If there is no vacuum, will the pcv ever open?
4. Does boost in the IM create a new factor in the flow?
5. Are the two tiny openings enough or do we need more welded in?
6. How much does the valve cover area get pressurized anyway?
7. Will your breather start smoking from extreme g-forces at the track?

1. of course we dont!!

2. thats a good question, maybe just hollow the pcv instead?

3. see #2

4. There is always boost in the intake manifold....( when in boost of course ) which is the only time a catch can is needed...when the motor is in boost. Not sure what you mean here.

5. I plan on low 500's ( whp ) on race gas but daily on 400ish....should be fine for me. Only time will tell.

6. I would assume a lot since people are seeing the dipstick blow out at times. Mine has done this from time to time as well.

7. I dont track the car, on the dyno after repeated runs the breather did not show any smoke...but thats not putting g forces on the car.

I plan to use the same can you are from ATP. I have shopped with ATP for years and they always have quality stuff. Have any pics of yours?
