From my recent tuning, I was notified by my tuner that they noticed a good amount of blow-by while the car was on the dyno, so I begin researching oil catch cans, and how to properly set it up.

I came to the conclusion that there's several different setup one can run with an oil catch can, and it really depends on what your setup is, and what you do with the car.

For me, with FI, the best option seems to be letting both the front and rear ports on the valve cover vent and breath as needed w/o worrying about extra air or oil vapor going into the intake manifold or post air filter pipe (where the front vent goes to for CTSC).

Here is what my setup looks like. It is baffled, and holds a little over 1 qt, and there's is a oil level tube on the back side not shown in picture.

I decided on a custom catch can because I didn't want to relocate too many things, and I wanted to run the shortest tubing possible to the catch can.

The person who made it is "John Grant", that's also his user name on this site. I am very impress by his craftsmanship.

I used a Jaz 1 pint vented catchcan with 3/8" fittings (I should have gotten the natural one so I could see how full it is).I mounted it with a simple L bracket I fabricated from 3/16" billet brass ( an L bracket from Lowes would work great) . I used the mounting bracket for the rad. overflow as a drill marking template and put them together using some longer screws .I unscrew the catchcan from the L bracket to drain it since I actually trimmed the nipple end of the petcock with a hacksaw to make sure it had more clearence.I did smell fumes coming off the catchcan in that location so I plumbed the filter remotely and placed it near the intake.Draws in the fumes if I'm at a light so you can't detect it at all.Simple ,easy ,cheap.I also included a pic of my remote oil sending unit which holds both the factory and autometer senders. http://www.maperformance.com/jaz-one-pint-...-catch-can.html
