any tips for getting the top bolts on the axles? i only had a short 14mm wrench so wasn't able to get very far on the very top ones, and i rounded off the damn bolt that holds the charcoal box thing in lol

Did you check the driveshaft? seen a few snapped with the same symptoms.

I had a similar incident off a stop light.

I got a buddy to look under the rear while I let the clutch out in first. He saw the right CV cup spin. Was my axle.

cause it might be the axles??? And save him time money etc from buying a new diff!!!

The top ones on the axles? Just rotate them to the bottom. Is that what you are talking about?

Did you actually try to spin the driveshaft with your hands with the car in neutral or just look at it?

You do know that if the axle is broke and the differential is fine, then it'd be pointless to put in a new differential with the same broken axle? Right?

See if the cheaper part is the problem first, then move to other possibilities if it was not the problem.
