yea the turbo has residual oil already in it....if you are at all worried put a couple drops in it and youre golden. At most your turbo will be w/o oil for a second or so.

ok, so pull EFI & Ignition Fuses, then crank for 10 seconds or so?
If my car sits for a long period of time as well as when I do an oil change I always like to build oil pressure before starting to make sure oil filter gets full of oil.

it's better to run dry at 500rpm's than run dry at 1200rpm's

Sure, there's residual oil left in bearings but when it comes to my car I always take the extra step to ensure things run smoother. It could mean the difference in months or years of service

I actually fill up my OIL filter with some oil before I start the car when I do an oil change, this way there is oil in it already

This a bad idea?

1) take the send off the top of the turbo and fill it with oil. put send back on.

2) then remove your entire fuel system. pump, injectors, rail, and all relays.

3) drain blinker fluid, get an a/c recharge, and then tap the oil light 3 times with your INDEX FINGER on your right hand. INDEX FINGER.

4) put everything back together.

5) damnit joey stop worrying!!!!

i started my greddy turbo kit for the first time with no oil in it (pulled the wrong relay - hence now why i pull the coils) and never had a single issue. it didnt make a bad noise, nothing.

now go outside and turn on your damn car so we can move along to the next 'joey thinks he ****ed up something' thread

j/k you know we all love you

hahah I know I know I have had some shitty luck though. I do hope no one elses Log manifold cracks, I had around 12,000-13,000miles when it cracked. I think that is the most miles on the kit. I would imagine its cycles that crack a manifold not miles, and I do have a lot of cycles. I just cant wake up on a weekend and not take it for a drive somehwere

That's what I did.... I just put oil in it and it started right up.

NOTE:

AEM EMS doesn't start up quick if you don't let it sit 2-3seconds prior to pushing START so I did that on purpose to get like 6-10 cranks before it fired up... I figured that'd help run some oil around.
