your tuner is talking about a rally style system..

So I was talking to my tuner and he said this

The popping is an anti-lag system, and it's not within the tune. There is a PWM valve in the exhaust stream that pulls in air based on RPM + timing retard to make it function.

For your turbo size, it is not advised to install such a system because it will blow apart the turbo . The turbo needs to be well sized for this application, and you'd only want it when you want to pre-spool the turbo under decel conditions.

I have a GTX30 ,I've seen cars with gt30s shoot flames weird how mine isn't big enough
That sounds more complicated that it needs to be lol. Which EMS do you have currently?

I'm in the process of installing this kit. Do all of you guys run the 2.5 inch reducer in the exhaust? I'm going to get tuned on 91 octane so boost will only be about 11-13 psi. Do I only have to run the exhaust reducer only if my wastegate reciceulates back into the downpipe?

I don't run it at all.

No, sometimes when it's cold I will get some. 6th gear pull rarely otherwise nothing.

how much boost do you run though and with what fuel? The p tunning instruction clearly state that when running pump gas at less than 15psi of boost that the exhaust 2.5 inch restrictor much be used to avoide boost creep. The instructions also say that when running race gas/e85 and running high boost ( more than 16psi and more than 500whp) The restrictor can be removed and there will be no boost creep when boost is set that high.

I'm going to be running straight 91 octate at 11-13 psi of boost. I would like to avoid running the exhaust restrictor if possible. I have a full straight through 3 inch exhaust system with no cat.

I used the bigger one of the two on 14psi 93oct no creep at all last yr. Taking it out this yr for e85 tune and upping the power. Best to contact mrc with questions of the kit, very helpful guy.

For 11-13 psi you'll best run the 2.5inch restrictor. You may still creep to 13-14psi.

My thinking is, I'm running a 3" exhaust, why put a 2.5" in there. My as well run a 2.5" exhaust?

I'm at 17-18psi on 91oct without a restrictor with lots of timing retard, daily hard driven. No worries about boost creep there. Plus what is the boost efficiency of a GTX3076R?

I'm hoping to blow my motor so I could build it.

Jeez thats a lot of boost for pump gas. How much power does it make and what turbo?
