Thumbs up Pulley Upgrade question

I was discussing upgrades the other day and it dawned on me that for an 03 SC kit that runs a 5.5lbs stock, then upgrading to a 7lb pulley would be worth it.

My question is: The CT SC w/AC for the 04 kit comes with a smaller pulley as is and is somewhere around 6lbs stock with a lower redline. Is upgrading to a 7lb pulley which is really for an 03 kit worth it?

What I'm getting at is....is there an 8lb pulley that I could safely run on stock injectors without Engine management? In theory I would only be achieving 7lbs at peak because of my AC w/front mount set up.

thoughts?

How boost loss is there with the front mount?
With the reduced redline you would also get less max psi. There is an equation here that should get you pretty close.

With the tech 2 3.5" pulley I had 6.6psi. This was the pulley that was supposed to produce 9lbs on the 03 kit. Each .25" is a pound.

But you will need injectors if you do any kind of boost upgrade on the 04. Like the ones I have for sale right now

I went through the same thing and asked a lot of questions that no one could answer. Now I can answer them for everyone else.

Thanks Silver... That's what I was thinking.... Upgrades to the 04 kit require immediate upgrades to the injectors...

What to do...what to do.....

So ...you can't run the Tech2 7PSI pulley on a MY2004 without upgrading the injectors? What else is needed to run the Tech2 7PSI pulley on a MY2004?
