Default Rough Idle after engine is warmed up

I posted this in the UTH forum but might have better luck here.

Today I started my car (cold). It ran well while it was warming up. Once it warmed up it started sounding like a miss. The engine light started blinking. So I turned it off and restarted it. Still ran rough and then in a short time the engine light started blinking again. Then the VSA light came on with the VSA activation indicator. The electric power steering (EPS) is also on but that light has been on even before I started the car the first time with the turbo kit. It wasn't on prior to the turbo install. Right now I only have a downpipe hooked up to the turbo with only one 02 sensor hooked up. What I think it might be since I don't have a scan tool is the car is running in some kind of safe mode thats why after it warms up it starts idling bad.

This is the second time I've ran the car since the installation of the turbo kit. I ran it today to make sure there absolutely no leaks which everything looks good except for this rough idle. I may start it up later just to see if it idles good. I think it will but won't know till alittle later. Also while the car was running for about 7+ mins the radiator fans didn't kick on. Maybe it takes alittle longer for it to kick on but the car could've still been alittle cool. I'm pretty sure all the plugs and everything are hooked up. I didn't see anything that I could've missed. TIA.

what engine management are you running? are any of your vacuum lines not connected correctly from your intake manifold?

I'm not running any EMS right now. I will be when I get my car tuned. As long as I don't go into boost I'm fine. I just want to make sure my car is running fine which it isn't. I have my stock injectors in at the moment with the bigger fuel pump. Night before I tow my car to the tuners I'll change my stock plug, injectors and install the EMS.

you say in your other post that you have a 3mm headgasket...

if your running a stock ecu... that means that your ecu is expecting to see a certain value for the ignition and vacuum for a certain rpm... if your compression is lowered, its going mess everything up with the stock ecu...

My vacuum lines are hooked up correctly. I've never thought of the 3mm HG messing with the ability to run smoothly. When I did start the car both times cold it does run smooth. When it warmed up the problem with the idle began.

O.K. found the problem so I could close this thread.

The problem was a misfire. Pulled each coil while the car was running. #3 cylinder wasn't firing or actually it was but had no fuel. The spark plugs were fine. All injectors plugs were plugged in but I pulled the one that wasn't firing and plugged it back in. Vola fixed the problem.

Drove the car around the block easily. Boy do I miss it. Car runs good. No leaks. Now its ready to tune this coming up monday!
