SOS,

Any idea on when and if this might get CARB approved?
If your in texas don't worry about it, you'll pass. (like your tags say)

If your in calif, you'll have to wait. It takes a lot of money and time to get through CARB these days. I think there is a 9-12 month waiting period now.

How did the SOS car manage over 13 psi of boost in the Dsport challenge? Is that the capability "off the shelf" of the Stage 2 kit?

I consider the stage 2 kit I bought from SOS to be "off the shelf". Even though mine came with an estimated 9.5psi pulley, I believe the pulley can be upgraded at no charge to run higher psi. It comes with EMS or K-Pro, injectors, and fuel pump starting at 6K.

Nope..... marketing strategy designed to sell kits!!

The comparison should have been "off the shelf VS off the shelf" ..... Im sure if highest HP was the only factor KW would have stepped up to bat and done something! I hate when companies alter there own product for show purposes and sell the "reduced HP version" MAybe this is the stage 2 kit from SOS... if so, I take back my statement!

At any rate... its obviously a good kit
This is not true. Our off the shelf Stage 2 system is capable of over 16 psi. Any customer can order such a kit. We have already sold several of these systems for customers with supporting engine modifications.

As I've mentioned in another thread, there was no limit of any kind in the DSport magazine competition against pressure or peak horsepower. Our goal was to show what our system is capable of with an off the shelf system. It was the competitors choice to bring whatever they liked as long as the system functioned on a stock engine and any options to produce this power was accounted for.

I suggest waiting for the magazine article to be published before jumping to conclusions.

Cheers,
-- Chris

It is something on the table, but will not be completed for some length of time due to the incredibly stringent and lengthy process required by the State of California.

Hey, does anyone know if during the install of this kit if you have to drain your coolant?

You have to drain some of it to cut the hose running from the top of the radiator to the block.
