Setup change to EFR
#22
Sorry for the late update. Shop had my car MUCH longer than anticipated. The EFR turbo is kind of a pain to tune if you have never used one before (My tuner hasn't). We kept getting boost droop on high RPM, and boost spikes at VTEC crossover. Jason from CNC helped us out a lot in the form of advice. Basically we ended up running the waste gate preload actuator at max preload (no threads ended up being left) and once it built boost (fast and early) it stayed at 11.5-12 psi from 4500-9000 on waste gate. We then used the EBC to get 4-5 psi more (15-15.5) from 5000-7000. We ended up making 452whp and 290wtq on a fairly low reading set of dynapacks (2 local mustangs read 4-5% higher) and a conservative tune. The car then ran into fuel pressure issues we pin pointed to being the FPR. FPR is fixed now and the car is going back Wednesday for a retune. We're only running 13-14 degrees of timing from 4500-9000, and it's a pretty steady 11.0-11.1 AFR. Were hesitant to up either one much more on NY pump 93, but the setup is very capable of 500+ with a little more timing and/or a leaner mix, let alone e85.

I have an efr 7670 or efr 8374 .92 IWG models for sale brand new if someone is interested. very good price. PM me for details. These two turbo's work great on 2.0 and 2.2 liter engines.
