Ok, the SOS kit will not offer the 1200 self lube version of the paxton blower. Not sure if that is a positive or negative at this point. SOS claims they have a new bracket and tensioning system, but is it really better than the vortech setup?

Vortech has a 3 year warranty vs the one year warranty from SOS. Con in my book.

Is there any real pros or cons for engine oil vs self lube blowers i.e. heat dissipation, no oil pan tappping. Does the self lube version run colder or hotter than engine oil?
The vortech warranty is based off of 3 years from the original cars date of purchase.

so if you own anything prior to 2006 then there is no warranty.

Guys, there are three types of warranties offered by Vortech. A one year warranty comes standard with the V3. For $50.00 you can purchase the 3 year warranty for the supercharger only. If you change the pulley on the supercharger the blower will only be covered under warranty for one year from the purchase date. The V2 comes with a 3 year warranty standard when purchased in a complete kit. It doesn't matter how old you car is, what matters is when you purchased the supercharger kit. A guy with a 67 Camaro can get the one or three year warranty on the supercharger.

There's also an optional 3year/36K powertrain warranty. The warranty term is based on the Vehicle's new car sales date, not the date of the system installation. The warranty can be purchased through a Vortech Top Tier installer. The powertrain warranty covers up to 5K in damages (3K for the engine and 2K for the tranny).

So what will it take to hit 400 on the new V3? Just a pulley change? No engine work, no headgasket?
im guessing maybe pulley upgrade and a good tune. maybe pulley and gasket.

With a 10 psi pulley and a good tune, you'll be pretty damn close. You might not get there, but it'll be very close.

12 psi would get you there and I believe some have done that with the stock head gasket, but I know I wouldn't.
