I think you get a lot more for your money with the Vortech product.

I also like how Vortech makes everything in house, and designs the kit around the car, instead of putting parts from all different places together into a kit. If they don't have a part, they make it. They have engine and supercharger dyno machines IN HOUSE. They make over 30 kits for many different makes and models and they have been in business for 12 years.

The Vortech bracket is NOT going to crack. The Vortech kit comes with aftercooler, blow off vavle, FMU, ECU etc. The Vortech blower is rated to 25 PSI and 700hp.

If you don't want to go turbo, go Vortech, I did and don't regret it for a second.

BTW you WILL need a new clutch!

Might want to wait a bit to see about the Vortech (like I am)....here's a previous Jenner post:

X for your use here are the problems I had(with a monday kit):

Undrilled crank pulley (I sent it back for exchange)

Wrong Vortech ECU(aka black box) (same as above)

Wrong NPT oil fitting (should be NPT on one end and flair on the other Vortech sent a bunch to Evolution Autosports)

Wrong wiring diagram in install manual (sent me updated manual)

Water pump bracket too small (Evo provided a part for this, but I believe the new kits come with the correct part)

I believe all of these issues have been fixed in all the kits that shipped 1-2 weeks after ours(which shipped the end of July 2002)

The spark plug problem was just S2k Troup and his silly Denso Iridium plugs

Just install new NGK copper plugs, 1 heat range colder and gapped to 0.035 and you will have no issues. If you want to change the gap from that, use different heat ranges, or use a different material, I would talk to both Vortech and your tuner first.

I had a "monday kit" and ran into the above problems during my install and haven't had a problem since. The people who are experiencing loose bolts are the ones that did not tighten the bolt/nut correctly in the first place. Both the bolt and the nut hold the pulley on. Most people think it is just the bolt, so they torque that down nice and hard, but don't torque down the nut! Call Vortech about that issue when it comes time to bolt yours on and they will tell you exactly what to do.

I've had the kit for ~3000 miles now, and I only have three problems remaining:

1. I am running lean because of other mods I have done to the car. 9/17/02 I am getting my V-AFC tuned in order to run a little richer and hopefully make more power

2. My clutch is slipping badly. 9/14/02 my new Stage 4 clutch and Toda flywheel get installed. NOTE: If you are going to install a clutch(which you will need to do) do it BEFORE the supercharger is installed as the engine needs to be lowered 5" in order to do the clutch swap.

3. I drive way too fast and reach triple digits in an insanly short amount of time

Just keeping the record straight.....

Just to make it clearer for everyone, I had one of the first 5 kits. The 10 first kits that I know of, had these problems, all of which have been corrected by Vortech via overnight shipping of replacement parts, and/or the new kits shipping with all the correct parts.
