Does anyone know what this sound should sound like?I bolted on a vortech about a month ago a took a trip to LA, when i came back my blower was making this whinning noise.Had a friend come over and take a look at the car he thinks it's the blower failing.noise sound,when in idle very high pitched whinning noise then when i accelerate the noise gets louder.I'm thinking it's something obstrucing the flow of the belt maybe a spindle thats not rotating correctly or something.

SC'rs tend to "whine" by default man. Even the vortech, which is the VQ series (quiet) is still noisey. Mine is louder in the summer, quieter in the winter ... I'm sure it has something to do with heat but who knows

If your belt is too tight it can cause the bearings to fail in your SC and it'll make some ugly noises... not sure its a whine though. The whine is usually caused by the impellars.(sp?)

 

I would say that if the bearings are worn down, that may change gear lash clearances and whine a hell of a lot more.
i've changed pulleys on mine and the whine difference is not that much.
