I know people who only run rcomp (r888) tires exclusively on their cars and never go to the track, just beat the streets with them for straight line traction when doing hwy pulls.. And they have 0 issues and love the grip of the tires..

And I also know people who run drag radials exclusively on their cars (Mickey Thompson, Hoosiers, nitto 555r , and NT05R) and do the same thing, with 0 issues..

It's all in what you want, soft or stiff sidewall.. The softer sidewall should grip better IMO, but from a roll it doesn't really seem to make that big of a difference..

I'd get the r888 or nt05r if you can find your size in either one.. They'll grip great on the hwy..

But depending on how much whp you plan on making, you'd probably be able to hook up on some really good street compound tires.. Like Dunlop star spec z1's, nitto invo's, or something of that nature..
