detonation because of a plugged cat can and does happen.
a PLUGGED cat , yes, but not a stock exhaust. Its the tuner, they suck with boosted applications.

Church automotive doesn't start from scratch they take someone else's base map and apply it to your own and adjust the fuel and stuff from there.

when they say the car still wants to detonate and they blame it on the clutch/exhaust that RIGHT THERE proves there in-experience in tuning. Even if Sean was there he would just take another base greddy map and compare it to yours. Then blame the problem on something else.

^^^ thats why you don't cheap out on tuning. My tuning was over 5 bills. Havn't had one problem yet and car idles at 800rpms and runs flawlessly.

tuning is just as important as taking that first piss in the morning. LOL

while i 100% agree that the tune is very important, and you should not cheap out on it, i disagree on associated the price paid for the tune as a direct relationship to how good it is.

i had mine tuned by mase, and he gives you a per hour charge, plus a per hour charge for the dyno, and tells u it typically takes him X hours to do it.

i almost choke when i see crazy prices paid for tunes. and then retunes be the same or more. any good tuner builds a library of maps to work from. and that way it takes less time to dial your car in.

now, if someone puts 5 legitimate hours into your tune, then yeah its gonna cost some dough.

to OP, it sucks churchs shop is dropping the ball like this. you did what you thought was the right thing to do. lessoned learned. try that other shop that was reccomended. try to work something out with them and not pay again for a tune thats useless. as for the clutch slipping, well that would really suck if this is true.
