Default turbo bog in high rpm's

I just finished taking out the S/C and putting in the turbo.

I have not done anything in the way of tuning, other than using the same settings for the S/C. I am not getting on the car on a regular basis. I won't have access to a wide band o2 until the middle of the week.

The car pulls very hard from almost idle to about 6 k. Once VTEC kicks in, I get a quick bog, and then a very nice surge of power up to about 7k.

After 7k, the power band just feels like it goes flat, or maybe even heads south! With the S/C I would boune off the revlimiter quite often in first gear. Hear I watch it move up almost like stock form.

I have not done the exhaust yet. That is also planned for next week. I am still running stock exhaust with the cat. I am thinking that the exhaust is too restrictive and not allowing the turbo to fully spool (I do hear the wastegate open), and I am at full boost on the gauge.

I think I am probably getting full boost because of back pressure, and NOT because of the turbo spool speed. And from 7 to 9k, the amount of restriction in the full stock exhaust + cat is too much to handle.

I know I'll find out when I do the exhaust, but I was wondering if Anyone had any other suggestions on what to look for.

Thank you
