Default Turbo Oil Restrictor

Having a oil leak with my turbo setup. I thought it was the Turbo drain causing the issue and tapped the girdle. Unfortunately, it still seems to have a very small leak. Not sure if the turbo seal is completely gone but it was rebuilt around 1 year ago.

I was thinking of putting a smaller restrictor to see if that would do the trick. The restrictor size I have now is .040 I believe. I know they make a .035 size but couldnt find anything smaller online. Does anyone know if there is a smaller size to try?

Thanks

what kind of turbo is it? garrett ball bearings suggest using .035, which is quite small. If you were to put the .04 and .035 next to each other, i'm sure you won't notice the difference

Its the Garret gt30r (Ball Bearing). Yea cant remember if i had the .040 or the .035. I was just wondering if there was a .020 or something around that size.

i believe the .04 or .035 would be sufficient for the turbo. so you're getting smoke out of the exhaust?

Originally I was getting a lot of smoke out of the exhaust. One was the PCV Valve and the other issue was the location of the drain. I corrected the PCV issue and it helped when WOT but there was still smoke. Now with the new drain, there is stilla bit of smoke. Seems like everything I do to correct it helps a bit but doesnt eliminate it.

Also my intake pipe/filter when removed has oil residue eventhough I cleaned it after the new turbo drain was put in. When the car is idle, there is a small amount of oil leaking to the floor from the turbo but cant see exactly where its coming from. I might just jack it up this weekend and let the car run to determine what is exactly leaking.

I was just about to ask about oil restrictors too. Seems as though .035 is the right size for Ball Bearing turbos. i need to buy one.
