I think you will be ok. Do a compression and leakdown to see if you need anything replaced or upgraded in your head.
It is advised to change your oil jet bolts to the 02+ if you have an early year ap1.
I did not do mine but when I took my motor apart they were easy to spot. Just have to pull your pan
