I know what you mean, on how it's hard to save money to just buy kits or similar things. But there are some VERY important pieces that go into building turbo kits, and by cheaping out on those parts, you deteriorate the life of the motor and the whole turbo kit. I would say put everything down on paper, bring it to a REALLY good tuner, and see what he thinks of the setup. There were a few parts in the Full-Race Stage 3GT kit that I didn't want to use....

I consulted my fabricator/tuner, and we ended up modifying 1/2 of the kit. if you have questions I can do my best to answer them for you. Many turbo kits can be a hit or miss, like the Greddy kit, as 1 person put down 215whp with it. Another with a DIY turbo kit made 300whp. Supporting mods can be the ones that hinder your performance, with the absence of them.

You shouldn't need a "check valve," you're not using a 12:1 FMU, a VAFC hack, and this isn't 1998. Stock MAP sensor will read up to at least 10psi.

Don't bother listening to the people that say "don't do it unless you do a Greddy kit..." It most certainly can be done for less expensive, with even higher quality parts, with more room to grow.

My advice for you would be to sell that VAFCII, because it's useless and you won't need it anyway with a F I/C or EMU (whichever you go with). And in deciding that, you first need to determine who's tuning the car, and what they prefer.

Injectors, RC550 or 750CC Saturated will do, you'll find the 550's cheaper, but if you ever plan on going over 300whp you're going to have to step up. Keep in mind you'll need spacers for them.

You keep asking about a "T3/T4..." Well, there's a lot of different variations of the T3/T4. Again, consult with whoever is tuning the car. You also need to consider where under the curve you're looking for more power. For instance, a 57 trim turbo would be fine for your horsepower level, but if you're looking for low to midrange power you'll want a .63A/R. If you're looking for mid to high range power, you'll want an 82.A/R. Do some research. The Honda-Tech forced induction forum is a great place to start with that.

You don't need a T3/60-1 unless you plan on upping boost. And although I'm not positive, I would be willing to bet that you're going to have space constraints with the RevHard manifold...the 60-1 might not fit without cutting some things up.

Yes you'll need a fuel pump. They're only $90 bucks, cough it up.

My advice is to stay completely away from eBay/"Godspeed" wastegates, turbos, and why not, blow off valves too. They're cheap China junk, and that's the kind of part you don't want to even think about breaking. Like a wastegate while you're under boost. No thanks.

I'd search around Honda-Tech for injectors, Tial 38 or Turbosmart 38 wastegate, Tial or other name brand BOV, and nice low mileage used turbo. Me personally would be happy with a .57 .63 A/R T3/T4...it will support your power goals, and it will be VERY responsive. Plus they're cheap...you'll find one for $350-$400 no problem at all. Wastegate/BOV around $150 each. Make sure you don't get an old beat up wastegate, and verify the spring installed.

As for intercooler and piping, Godspeed sells the intercooler kits from the above mentioned kit on eBay for like $400 bucks. Can't beat that. Piping and everything.

A dumptube you're probably going to have to have made. Shouldn't be expensive. Get a flange for $10, and find a local fabricator, they'll probably do it for $50.

As for turbo plumbing, check out Stealthmode Performance, they have quality parts for good prices. That's another thing you don't want to skimp out on, unless you like crossing threads and cleaning up oil leaks.

And that should be that. If you buy quality parts, lightly used, wisely, and don't skimp out on the parts I mentioned, you'll have a great running kit at 300whp that will be plenty of fun, and more importantly, reliable...all for under $2500 bucks.
Thanks for all the info but you could have saved some typing if you read my last post in this thread.

Yea I found out recently that the check valve was only needed with the stock ecu.

I already have:

Revhard mani
Revhard downpipe
38mm Tial wastegate w/dumptube
Inline pro oil filter relocation kit
Rc550 injectors and clips
Walbro 255 fuel pump

I have located an aem ems and still deciding on if I want a .63 t3/60-1 or an .83 T3/T4...

I will be picking up the godspeed intercooler kit because that price is unbeatable. I'm just worried that I bought to small of injectors...

Synchronic bov will be my choice of BOV so its just come down to the oil lines but ill prob wait till I have a turbo mocked up

Will a t3/t4 not run out of breath at 9k rpms? I'm guessing the .83 will make boost all the way up, but the .63 will make spool faster and then be weaker up top?

Yeah I did see your last post, but keep in mind, we post these things on forums so that when the question gets asked again, the info is there.

You can search around for an injector calculator to help with your decision, results vary from calculator to calculator, but the RC Engineering one is very accurate:

http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx

Keep in mind that 300whp is roughly 330-340bhp

And your assumptions for the turbo are correct. Again, I would call RevHard and ask about fitment with a 60-1, I wouldn't be suprised if you had to notch the block or cut the frame to get it in there with a .70 coldside housing. That's a pretty big turbo.

decided to dig this up for a new question.

I have moved farther along in my build. I now have:

Inline pro relocation kit
rc 550cc injectors w/clips/pigtails
walbro255 fuel pump

im intending to use a T3/60-1 turbo with the revhard manifold and im curious/worried about the oil lines...

After seeing so many dyno sheets of AEM EMS tuned cars and Emanage tuned cars...i deiced that AEM is the way to go. Good bye cruise control

Anyone with the revhard kit or a kit with a similarly placed turbo with cast log manifold want to help me out by measuring the lengths of there oil lines so ican have some made and just bolt them on when everythings ready?

I also am wondering whats a good fitting to use to tap into the oil pan?
i seriously have cruise on my 03 w/ AEM.
