Alright, I checked and they are registered as RACE cars and not show cars. I do not know how they get away with this being they are insured but I'll find out for sure.

You'll never see any standalone EMS become OBDII compliant. Being user programmable gaurantees it.

No emissions testing at all where I currently live. And damn am I grateful after having lived in california all my life. I once failed emissions because I did not have a CARB sticker for my intake and header. What kind of bs is that. As if those two parts are going to make my car a gross polluter.

Sorry just to clarify that last statement for me in plain English (I'm a little old and slow ).

You are saying you gotta bribe the guy at the test station to break the law to make it appear that your car passed. Is this correct? I'm not making any JUDGEMENT, just a simple yes or no question?
Being that I was in that position with a previous car, I can answer your question with a YES. It is also referred to as a "magic" smog test, probably because a typically emissions-illegal car can magically pass the test...after slipping the smog tech some dough

I was afraid I'd hear the "bribe the emissions guy" response. Just curious, how much are you guys paying them? And unhooking the turbo once a year must suck. I'm already thinking of how I'll have to put my cat back on next year, and that only takes 20-30 minutes.

I cannot afford a new FI system, even if ELDA were to come out with one I'd have to wait a year or three before used systems showed up. I'm considering FI only because buying used is cheap and I'd be able to sell it down the road for almost what I paid for.

With all that said... looks like SC for me
