What do you mean by "a lot"?

I know for a fact, a better manifold design, proper downpipe and an external wastegate set-up will wake this system up. You won't have to worry about boost pressure fluctuating and falling off at higher rpm which should net some power in itself and give you a much nicer power band. As to how much more power it will make i'm not sure. On my B16 Civic Si, I had all the problems mentioned above and decided to do the very upgrades you're thinking about doing. The stock kit on my car with a 2.5 inch exhaust from the elbow of the turbo back on 7psi netted me 193whp. After upgrading to a ramhorn manifold, a 2.5 inch downpipe right off the turbo and a external wastegate, which is recirculated into the downpipe, I went back to the dyno and on wastegate spring pressure (5psi) I made 223whp. That's 30whp at 2psi less boost pressure over the stock kit.

I tried to research the turbo as much as I could but no one seems to have solid numbers on it. From what I have found though, the 16g flows about 520cfm and the 20g flows about 685cfm. So I would guess the 18g would fall somewhere in the middle of that, 590-610cfm, which is compareable to a Garrett GT2871R. I do think the 18g will slightly out flow the GT2871R but not by much at all (wheels in compressor and turbine housings are ever so slightly larger) so for it getting to 500whp, I highly doubt it. With a full 3inch exhaust, test pipe and maybe a larger throttle body I could see it making low 400's and with some on the edge tuning possibly mid 400's.

I just finished a bunch of upgrades (P&P head, cams, throttle body) on my car and will be pushing the limits of this turbo very soon (waiting on charge piping, bad boost leak). IF everything goes according to plan, at 20psi I should be able to get to my goal of 400whp while still managing to keep the car quiet (it's damn near stock quiet), retaining power steering and air conditioning.

Well those are my thoughts as of right now. If I get to the dyno and better or worse than I'm expecting happens, my thoughts may change. Honestly though, if you're not looking to build a track beast and all you're looking for is a great street car, I would go for it. The power band will become much thicker by being able to hold boost pressure all the way to redline. That coupled with the quick spool and if you can get the power to stick, it will make a sick street car and a fun weekend road course racer.

Hi,
I track my car at VIR about 3-4x/year. Usually 30-40min session over a 2 day period. Is this the right turbo set up for me or not? I don't want to read through all the pages of this thread.
Thanks in advance!!

So, what is a filter to get? part number or car? thanks for finding this out!
