Great write up! I am running a HFC and, as of tonight, an Invidia V4 70mm cat back. I should be in the 300 whp area now. i am also trying the AUT cooling plate mod and got rid of the "ghetto" air intake tubing!! LOL.
It is a great kit and this is a great summary of it!

I agree 100% with Chris. I got the Greddy kit because I wanted to make my s2000 the way I thought it SHOULD have been made, with another 100hp and 100tq. Got both. If you want a turbo to keep up with the latest Z06, this is NOT the kit for you.

Great writeup Chris! A couple questions about your recommended oil weight/vis

Are you saying that you should run, at a minimum, 40 vis oil with this kit? I am currently running 10w/30 mobile one. Is the 30 vis too low? I know the weight of the oil used can be a little dependent of outside ambient temps ( I live in northern VA and our temp ranges from 95 in the summer to about 25 in the winter) Should I switch to a 5w-40 at my next oil change? Would this change oil pressure at all?

Everyone chime in please

Matt

I am curious about this as well. I am running 10w30 mobile one also. Should it be changed?

What do you think Cris?

Right now i'm running 10W30 Redline but I have gone through almost two quarts added during the last 4K miles. Would switching to Redline 5W40 or 10W40 be better for me?
Going to do a change this weekend or next so I got to resolve this soon and at 10 bucks a quart I want to get it right this time.

I posted this in an earleir thread, seems that Greddy addressed many of my issues, though mine had trouble and was shipped from Greddy in August 08.

I have found the kit to be very simple if you get rid of the oil filter relocation kit and tap the pan for the oil return. Other than that I would suggest the following parts be ordered with it, many of which will be helpful/necessary with any turbo kit. I am sure I forgot a few things but other can chime in.

Almost Necessary:
Greddy's Pressure Sensor and Harness
Wide Band and Greddy Harness
Fuel Pump Sock
8 x 1.25 Allen Head Bolts for the Turbo Discharge (Makes it easier to install)
Heat Resistant/Reflective tape
Metal Straps for the Heat Wrap (DEI makes then in SST)
Heavy Duty PCV (My dipstick blows out without it)
Extra Silicon Tubing (I ordered 20' in Black)
A couple of Vacuum T's
Oil Filter and Oil
USB Printer Cable and Emanage Software for Data Logging (Mohdparts.com)

Highly Recommended:
C Nuts for studs in the manifold that hold on the turbo and downpipe
Exhaust Manifold Studs
Boost controller (not essential but very nice)
3.5mm Jack to make a switch for the switch port.
Blowoff Valve (For Performance not Reliability)
High Flow Cat
Heavy Duty the clamps and couplings
Boost Gauge
Instead of Gauges I use led's hidden in the A pillar and buzzers to indicate problems using outputs in the Emanage.
AEM Dry Flow Air Filter

Other common upgrades are exhaust, meth injection and of course a new clutch.

You may also want to look at Inline Pro's smaller turbo kit with the 5965 turbo which is comperably priced but has more room for expansion.

Just my 2 cents if you are looking for upgradeability You may also want to look at Inline Pro's smaller turbo kit with the 5965 turbo which is comparably priced if you are looking for future expansion.

Does changing the turbo void CARB? Can you replace/upgrade any parts of the kit and still be CARB legal?

If so, what HP do you think is the ceiling for this kit, assuming you only make legal modifications/add-ons?
