Default UR turbo kit installed boost at over 14psi?problem

hi,

i bought a used ultimate-racing turbo kit and just finish install it on my 2004 S2000 last week. my problem is that the boost goes over 14psi...but the ultimate-racing kit is supposed to boost at 8psi.

i have suspect the tial 38mm wastegate springs, but after verifivation it's the good one, the springs in the wastegate is a small blue 1.87'' diameter.

why the car boost at over 14psi when i have a 8psi wastegate spring?? the vacuum line on the top mount of the wastegate goes into the turbo??

14psi not very good for a stock engine with OEM headgasket!

thanks

ps sorry for my english

Yikes - you need to stop driving your car hard because you could definitely cause damage with spikes like that.

Are you using any kind of boost controller? What kind of management are you running?

no boost controller and i have a blue greddy emanage. UR racing kit doesn't come with a boost controller so i dont think i need one.

my greddy emanage is not yet tuned my appointment at tuner shop is august 20. but you cannot control the boost with the emanage?

would i have to suspect emanage map??

thanks

ok i found my problem...the top port connection of the wastegate goes to the atmosphere. it was connected to the turbo, it's why i have the double amount of boost...i just disconnet this hose and everything is fine now the turbo dont go over 8psi.

I suppose this hose is where we can plug an adjustable boost controller if we want more boost over the 8psi springs

thanks

Wow.

This is why you do your homework before getting into F/I on a car that comes N/A stock.

I'm glad you solved your problem before anything serious happened to your motor.

Yea. 14psi on an untuned completely stock motor can be disasterous.
