vacuum lines for bov and wastegate
I need an expert to explain in lamens terms how this stuff hooks up. I mean a basic easy to understand way...
1. The standard bov connects to the intercooler piping. It has two places for hose connections. The one on the bottom at an angle, and the one on the top that's strait. I've been told you hook up only the top one and tee into a vacuum line. Is this correct? And does it matter which vacuum line it is, becase there are a bunch. I found some vacuum lines that run btwn the factory air filter box and the engine. The vacuum lines are actually connected to the intake box. The lines run to the manifold. Can I use these vacuum lines for the BOV. Does anyone have any detailed pictures of how to hook up to bov and where it connects to?
2. The wastegate... I have a tial 38mm. There are also two connections for hoses on this. One guy I talked to said both of these go to the boost controller and a vacuum tees into it. Is this correct? Also I see these 15.00 boost controllers on ebay that seem to be mechanical. Then there are frekin 700.00 boost controllers. Can I use one of these 15.00 or find one for a decent price that will work well? And can anyone give me detailed pictures or a diagram on how the boost controller and wastegate hook up?
Thank you in advance for your help. I want to do eveything myself. I know how to hook everything else up except the boost cont. wastegate. and bov. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

There should be a brass nipple on the cold side of the turbo. A line runs from that nipple to the inlet of the boost controller. Then from the boost controller out to the bottom port of the wastegate. The top wastegate port does not need a line going to it.
you'd be best to hook up your bov directly to your manifold with no t's. that way it isn't sharing a vacuum source with another item which might not have much impact but could effect bov response. i'm not familiar with bov's that have more than 1 vacuum port so you got me on that one.
your wastegate, you don't need a boost controller unless you intend to run a different psi than what the wastegate spring is rated for. the bottom port on the wastegate goes to your turbo compressor side, or part of your charge piping, but on most turbos there is a place directly on the cold side to run a line to. if you get a manual boost controller, you will just basically interrupt that line with the boost controller. if you go electric, then you will need to hook up the bottom port and the top to the controller. any decent ebc or manual controller you buy should come with a diagram of how to hook it up.
