Verifing Ignition Timing w/ Crank Position
Ive raised this question, and from a very known and reputable tuner, here is the end/all be all of how he verifies timing,I asked about using the timing light to verify, which mine did, but still had symptoms of erratic timing
On the dyno:
"Put on 30 psi, lock the time in to 12° in the entire map and make a run to Redline while holding the timing light and watching it during a pull; Mark the balancer. Find a comfy spot to watch with straight line of sight and he will probably find the timing to be bouncing back-and-forth from where it should be."

Oh lord, I am not even close to doing that yet. I am just trying to get mine set up for a start up and base tune. I just saw that it is necessary to begin the tuning process. Checking the difference from crank to AEM EMS timing numbers.
yes, i would say 90% of cars wont have to go as far as i did, but its good to post it so others down the road can diagnose further. get a timing light and check it, very quick and easy
