Default vortech running rich part throttle.

so ive just installed a vortech supercharger running 7psi with aftercooler. ive got the comptech fpr instead of the vortech fpr. at part throttle in third gear the afr is 10.5. i know this is waay too rich for part throttle. is this normal? ive adjusted the comptech fpr the best i can. runs high 12 afr in the top end.

you will need something to adjust the tune vafc, emanage or go standalone without it that 10.5 afr is par for the coarse as you need the fuel on the top end

safe as long as your afr isn't in the 9's at part throttle I take it you are referring wot at lower rpms as the car wont go rich until the ecu goes open loop

yeah at part throttle lets say half throttle and i hold it at 5k rpm the afr is 10.5. wot is fine even though it dips to 10.8 for a quick second in the begining.

Get the car tuned!! Much less expensive than replacing a blown motor.

Vortech runs lean out of the box a lot. You probably have it almost maxed out seeing as you're still running really lean up top but really rich partial throttle. Should get into the 11's afr up top.

Before I was tuned my vortech would be running in the 14's up top. Just couldn't supply enough fuel at all.

Once tuned its been perfect ever since.

Yeah I agree with get a tune. That is FAT, and the same thing happened to me....go pull the dipstick and see if you smell fuel??? if you have been driving it much at that AFR, bet you do.
