Warranty w/ Comptech supercharger?
I'm sure there must be eleventeen old threads on this, but i must be search engine impaired or something.
my car has like 42k miles on it, and i might be able to talk my dealer into offering me the extended warranty still. if i can swing it, will the fact that my car is SC'd void it?
i've heard mixed things about whether or not the Comptech SC voids warranties. What's the latest word?
If I can't get the warranty, then i guess it'll be time for a stiff diff and more psi...

You may be out of luck. IF the Comptech was installed by a Honda or Aura dealer authorized by Comptech to do the work, then your factory warranty would be maintained in some form. However, an extended warranty is a whole differenct story. Offhand, I'd say forget it, but ask your dealer. You just never know. Make sure you clearly state that the car has this mod (and any other mods you may have). They'll sell you an extended warranty just to get your money. It will be another matter to try and claim on it later. It would be easy for them to say they knew nothing about your mods and deny the claim. If they go for it, get it all in writing.
The Dealers sell extended warranties for other companies, it's not the dealer that gets to decide what is covered.
Those Dealers that install Comptech products MAY put some warranty, but it's through that dealer only. Other Dealers and Honda will not cover any drivetrain failure with a SC installed.
I wouldn't trust any extended warranty covering anything on a SC'd car.

FYI there is no such thing as an extended warranty..... The actual term for these plans are an extended service contract and they are exactly that, contracts NOT warranties. You are buying a contract to cover your service on your car for the time and the mileage specified. Some extended service contracts have provisions for aftermarket superchargers and turbo chargers. Others do not. You need to ask to company that writes the contract if you will be covered and you should get it in writing that you are with all of your modifications.
Unlike manufacturer warranties, service contracts have provisions within them that allows them to be canceled if you have ANY unapproved modifications. Depending upon how the contract is written they could void the entire contract for changing the valve stem caps if they wanted to. You have no protections when it comes to extended service contracts and modifications. You would need to make certain that the contract you purchase allows certain modifications. If it doesn't you will be in trouble.
