Default Extended Warranty...

I tried searching, but couldn't really find any information that was helpful...

Basically, here's my situation. I just bought a 2001 S2000 with 78,035 miles at time of purchase 10 days ago. Right now I have ~78,600 miles. The car came with an Extended 8 year/80,000 mile warranty. I was interested in getting an extended...extended warranty if at all possible.

The car does have bolt on mods...It has Comptech Icebox, Comptech Exhuast, Comptech Front Strut tie bar, and Tein S-Tech springs. AFAIK these shouldn't void the warranty, and therefore I presume that it shouldn't prevent me from being able to get an extended warranty (if all else is acceptable).

I've heard that the Hondacare warranty is a really good one. However I was wondering if there are any other Warranty companies that are good with dealing with warranty claims. I would like a company thats really good with handling these claims so that I get the least amount surprises (if any) if and/or when it comes time for me to get something repaired.

Also, am I limited to only Honda dealerships with these warranties? My friend has a Volvo, and he got an extended warranty, but I don't think he has to specifically go to Volvo dealerships for the warranty to cover repairs. Just curious, cuz I personally would like to stay away from the Honda dealerships in my area and take it to a different shop.

I would really appreciate any and all help. I would really like it if I could get some responses back soon because I'm fast approaching the 80,000 mile mark, and I don't want to be denied coverage because my initial warranty has expired. Thanks in advance...

Read the fine print. An "extended" warranty is NOT like the original factory warranty. They can deny a claim if you so much as have aftermarket lugnuts. There is a whole thread in the last few weeks on this subject of someone trying to claim for a major repair on the extended and was denied.

Thanks for the response...

Oh wow, what horse shit! Guess I'm not considering the Honda care BS extended warranty...

Does anyone have experience or input on any third party warranty companies?

An extended "warranty" is actually a service contract. You do not have the legal protections (such as Magnuson-Moss) with an extended warranty.
