Hm, good thread. I was just about to post the same question. So you pulled the head off with the manifold still attached? i didnt know if it was possible but i guess it can be done.

That's actually the easiest way to do it. Taking the intake manifold off first is more of a death wish than anything else.

A death wish you must accept if you are installing the Hondata intake manifold gasket like I did

hondata gasket sucked so bad, its those 2 bolts underneath all the way at the back that were such a pain

I took off the head with the intake manifold still on yesterday. When I had the head off the block, took the intake manifold off to install the Hondata gasket. I was told that I can use ARP's H23 head studs. 2 boxes so that you can use 1 of the short studs from the 2nd box (9 short 1 long per box). what a waste.
