What oil to use, and what viscosity?

It kills the turbo, from what I hear from Royal Purple LOL.

sorry to thread jack . but since theres already a thread started i might as well ask . what oil should i run on my greddy turbo s2000 . my tuner told me to use mobile 1 10w30 . what you guys think? i was thinking more like 10w40 .

10-30 is fine. I wouldn't use Mobil 1 though.

Out of all of the "off the shelf " oils, I would pick castrol edge. I used it with my GReddy Turbo S2000 and I also use it in my Lexus GS400. Out of the higher quality oils I would pick Brad Penn or Amsoil.

Royal purple has been known to kill turbos. It cakes up inside them. GReddy told me that if I run royal purple in my car they would not warranty anything in my Turbo kit.

I see a lot of ppl using 10w40. I was told to use 10w30. Is there a reason why some of you use 10w40 over 10w30?
