Ummm....Im not even turboed and can say this with 100% confidence. You are not going to turbo an s2000 for less than 7K, and IMHO, 10K is when you have a good, reliable, high quality kit.

$4000 dollar turbo kits are complete BS. Sure they might run for a week, but you will spend the money sooner or later, fixing crap that keeps breaking. I have yet to talk to a turbo owner (and I know a lot of them) that has spent LESS than 8K.

The clutch/install alone is 1400-1600 bucks. AEM is 1000 at the LEAST.

P.S. There is no such thing as a "turbo kit."
So after all those comment I realize I shouldn't even be considering turbo witch such a small budget. Beside from the way things looks; I think an upgrade supercharger would be more than enough for my taste.

I have a personal friend who his expert BMW. He own a supercharge M3 and his going turbo while speaking. He's working on it when he has time; he will be the one helping me with my project.

Don't think I have to mention supercharger are much more popular on I6 then turbo, so he his by far more knowledgeable in S/C.

I'll keep my eyes open for a deal on a used S/C kit.

This is an absolute bullshit comment right here.

Turbo kits can easily be had for 4000

Pieced together they can be had for a lot less.

Minimum 7000 you are nuts.

Just because you pieced together a used ebay parts bin turbo kit, doesnt mean it is the right way to go....

Explain to me how you can get a turbo for 4K? $1200 for EMS, $1000 for turbo, $1000 for a half decent manifold.....how are you getting 4k? $1300 for the clutch/install, I suggest you take a wiff of the BS a little closer....

There is NOT one person here who has what I consider a REAL turbo setup on s2ki that spent less than 7K.

I know of at least 4 that have done it for less than 4

Clutch can not be included in the cost of a turbo KIT

I did not piece mine together with ebay parts, they were all high quality brand new brand name parts.

For instance the Inline pro kit is 3800
The PFab kit is 3500

If you are using stock boost you do not absolutely need EMS

7K? That's nuts. If you're including a clutch, I can see 6K but anything over that is a little ludicrous if you're a cost conscious person. I mean, who actually spends 1600 on a clutch install? That is RIDICULOUS! You can find a clutch for 500 and pay a friend 200 bucks to install it for you...

You have to include a clutch in the cost of the kit, because the stock one will die, and fairly quickly. Thats why when all the big guys (AUS, Xclusive, Sideways, B Nugget, Jakub, Arnold, Kane, etc) talk about "miscellaneous" costing a good amount of money, its everything needed to make the car run right, and a clutch is definetely one of those things.

You cannot tell someone who knows NOTHING about an s2000 that they can get a turbo kit for their car for 4K. When they ask you, they want to know the price of it WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING PERFECTLY. Cant say "oooh I spent 4K....my clutch doesnt hold past 3K rpms, but I got a turbo kit for 4K) Its simply mis-information.

And if you STILL dont believe me regarding the price....make a poll and ask how much people have invested into their turbo kit and kept their car smooth and reliable....you wont hear anything under 7K.

I don't disagree that most people have spent 7k+, but "most" people are the type that will just dish out the 1600 to install a clutch. The guy I bought my car from spent 120 dollars buying a battery at Honda and getting it installed at the dealership. "Most" people will dump 9K on the Lovefab setup (insanity).

I'm just saying that - if you wait for used stuff to come up - you can get a kit done much cheaper. I got my EMS 1052U for over 500 dollars less than what I would have paid for the cheapest online vendor's price. If you have patience, determination, and know a few important people locally or can make some connections, you can save a couple thousand dollars that the average Joe would have just slapped on the ol' credit card. That's why I stated that, a complete turbo setup with clutch install can be done for only 6K or less.
