Why did you hate your SC?

The only way I would see the low and mid power range coming into handy would be from drag racing from a dig.
Low rpm power I agree with you on. However midrange is how a turbo making a bit less power(peak) than me was able to walk away from me doing roll-ons. Turbos make a bit more descent midrange power than SC. Midrange is beneficial also when you are rolling. My SC setup at the same power level never pulled as hard as my turbo setup. If it did I would've probably kept my SC. Only thing I missed from it was its turn-key reliability. No water cooling lines to come loose. No bolts to come loose, etc. etc.

I did the same thing Deception did. I was turbo'd (Greddy) and decided that for my only car, my DD, I needed something safer that was still fast when I wanted it. Thus I went SOS.

I also agree with Moddiction - centrifugal SC's barely help the car at low rpm. I think if I'd bought a SOT roots blower first, I'd have kept it forever. When I went SC, I made the mistake of looking at AP2 dyno's and assuming I'd have decent (not great, decent) torque down low with the centrifugal. Wrong. Even at 14.4psi boost, the car isn't fast until the upper rev range. It's not horribly slow anywhere on the tach like stock was, but you have to rev it to make real power. A turbo would crush me in a race if I wasn't in exactly the right gear at the right rpm.

After riding in a Kraftwerks AP2, I can say that it feels strong at any rpm and seems to be a very good fit for these cars. But it's not crazy fast like the serious turbo kits are. The TTS kit with the bigger Rotrex blower is thus my current guess at the most enjoyable SC setup currently sold as a complete kit. If I was starting all over again (not having sunk so much money into my current setup) I'd probably go TTS.

I will say that FI rocks. I would never go back NA with these cars. Took a friend out for a quick run last night and went through 2nd and 3rd (not all the way to redline) and then stood on the brakes hard in case there were cops nearby. Slowed way down and thought, whew, glad we didn't get caught. Then looked at the speedo and saw we were still doing 64mph... In a 35 zone. I doubt we'd have even gotten up to 64 by then if the car was NA!

Vortech T-trim with the boost turned up here. No complaints, over 300 torque and 500 rwhp.

Turning up the boost adds a little torque in the lower rpms.
I'm boosting off idle and torque is 145 ft lbs at 2700 rpm. Stock that was my torque peak full out at 7600 rpm in V-tec just to put it in perspective.

I've not heard many complaints.

That is a heck of a setup. Do you have a build thread?

I'm sure you have, you've just gotten used to them by now. The vibration in the shifter is a pretty well-known issue after installing one. It's pretty basic, if something extra is running off the drivetrain, it's going to change the feel of the drivetrain.

I've always had vibrations in the shifter even before the install. Didn't notice a difference once the sc was installed though. Maybe different kits are different or something.

for me it was the lack of upgradeability with the KraftwerksUSA kit. out of the box it was a fantastic an well put together kit with attention to detail for installation.

however being limited to 10psi was a big let down. car felt great at all rpm and was quite fast but it fell short of that feeling of power I really wanted initially. had I been able to upgrade it and hit 400-450whp I'd have never even considered going turbo.

Kraftwerks made a mistake by not offering the C38 blower. the c3094 was a great match for those who only wanted a bolt on and go affair, but for anyone looking for more will be sorely diappointed.
