i have 4.56 gears and a CTSC and i love the combo. Im at stock boost right now but i will be going up soon, i guess the short gearing is more a pain in traffic but the combo is awsome when you want to row through the gears really quickly!

well my input is that i already purchased a comptech reinforced diff /w 4.77 gears from htg and a comptech sc with ac. i'm only going to run the stock boost for the majority of the cars life cause i dont think i will need anymore power - but that could all change in the future i ordered my parts about one month ago and i'm still waiting on them! i would love nothing more than to give some valuable feedback to this thread, believe me

i researched a lot of threads about supercharging and using gears, and just supercharging, and just gears... i think this is the best way to go for me to keep my engines reliability somewhat intact by not running huge amounts of boost to get the same feel from lower boost & gears. i stayed with the sc instead of the turbo because i wanted to keep the same linear building powerband that the s2k has. i've had two turbocharged cars in the past i want to feel a different powerband this time round, and the same feel so attacking the corners will be smooth. i also talked to other members who have the same setup - like djpeak

for town commuting i think starting in 2nd gear is probably going to be an easy option to eliminate a shift from the increased gear ratio i'll only use 1st when i want to get silly with the throttle. i dont mind shifting that much though, and the 4.77's only increase your rpm by 600-700 in each gear... not that much if you really think about how fast the revs go anyways.
