I considered the Mugen but liked the J's better because of the Tsuchinoko chamber.

I didn't really measure it. I more or less estimated the cut from the photos on s2ki and resting the hood on the snorkel. I also used amuseboy's posted Mugen instructions as a guide as well - http://www.amuseboy.fpic.co.uk/c122157.html
