Hi guys, i'm italian, i know the stories about this filter.
The first CDA is like the one in first photo. At the dyno we look that the car lose powerful.
After some studies the BMC released the second version that is some cm longer than the first. with this versione the engine obtain some hp, but not too much.

It's good that you mentioned how you saw the car lose power on the dyno. But a dyno really is just a general-stationary measurement of power. When the car is actually in motion, it's angle changes, the wing turbulence changes, the car in front of you might be releasing excessive carbon, humidity and temperature will change, elevation will change, tires act differently, some of the mods on the car may actually give you more turbulence and rear vacuum as a result slowing the car down. The wind is pushed towards you in a dyno, In real driving, you are pushing through the still air. Intake dynos are unncessary imo - simply because the s2k is already a great car and even adding an exhaust may make you lose power.
Say you got an intake that gains you 6 hp. Yay. Now you go and buy larger and wider wheels and tires - heavier with more grip. And then you go buy a body kit - heavier with a bit of downforce MAYBE. The intake power gain amounts to really nothing especially in daily drive. Wheel to wheel racing & Time Attack is alot more serious (a professional level). But 6hp in a daily driven / maybe-sometimes tracked car is a bit too anal for me
Alot of us can't feel the gains of an intake. It's mostly the sound that makes us think it's either faster or slower.I'm up for bench-racing suggestions & criticisms... though talking and actually driving is black and white. If you want a REAL noticeable power change for the s2k, an intake isn't what you should look for. Either lose weight or go FI. Sometimes, when you buy stuff, it isn't always about power lol. You need to consider the maintenance, access to other parts of the engine bay, and the convenience of removing it with ease.

i couldn't find the price for the cda85-150 filter box but i saw replacement filters were ranging from $140-$150 and that kits for other cars ran about $320-$490.
